Mytel, Myanmar’s fourth telecom network operator, announced its nationwide services and products at Pullman Yangon Centerpoint Hotel on June 9, 2018. As the most modern operator, Mytel supports both 2G and 4G networks and is the only network which can offer nationwide 4G coverage at the launch. There are 30,000 km of fiber cables installed, contributing to 50% of fiber optic infrastructure of all Myanmar in just over a year. 80% of the population is covered by Mytel’s 2G and 4G networks, especially the largest and the latest 4G network covering more than 300 townships. Mytel provides a diverse ecosystem ranging from IT applications to variety of services for a fuller experience. Mytel also aims to provide customers high speed internet and better signal strength which ultimately bring the best network experience.
Mytel SIM cards retail at 1,500 Kyats per card. Customers will get 1,500Mb+150mins for free in the first three months as a welcome pack. Mytel also applies 100% promotional policy on all kind of refill cards for all days of the week. Mytel provides customers a simple billing rule: charging block 1s+1s which allows customers to pay only for the duration of the call.
Mytel expanded its services across Myanmar with peak network readiness after commencing the initial operations in Naypyitaw, East Bago and Kayin State on March 15. Customers can access its 4G network anytime, anywhere in the country through nationwide launch. Mytel 4G SIM and top up cards are available at 50 Brand Shops and 50,000 POS outlets across the country. Mytel was founded in 2016 bringing together a pre-existing network of Myanmar tower infrastructure from a group of 11 Myanmar companies, and the Vietnamese Viettel’s decadeplus experience operating in frontier markets.
