MNA Introduces its Newly Arrived Aircrafts

Myanmar National Airlines (MNA) introduces its newly arrived Aircrafts on 15 June 2015. Together with the arrival of newly aircrafts, Boeing Next generation 737s , MNA will expand international network starting with the announcement of Yangon-Singapore route this August and is also planning to fly to four more cities in the Asia Pacific region by early 2016. The first arrival is one of six Boeing Next-Generation 737-800s. The second arrival will be in October this year and the rest will be in within 3 years. Captain Than Tun, Chief executive officer of MNA said “ Today we celebrate an incredible achievement in the history of our airline and our country by welcoming the first member of our brand new fleet. With these beautiful, leading-edge aircraft we will create a premier airline that is the undisputed leader in the country, the rival of others in the region and that shares the spirit of Myanmar with the world. According to Dr.Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president of Asia Pacific and India Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, “ Boeing is honored to be a part of this very important milestone for Myanmar National Airlines”. MNA offers three cabin classes; Ruby Business Class, Jade Premium Economy and Economy on their new fleet of 737s. Reservation can be made in the MNA website, www.flymna.com. MNA operational enhancements were started in late 2014. They installed a state-of-the- art computerized management system for reservations and departure control processes and systems as well as new website for online booking, payment and seat selection. Then, all staffs in MNA are also trained in line with international standard. MNA is also providing state-of –the-art in-flight streaming entertainment systems. In terms of cuisine, MNA will also offer catering and beverage services with both international and Myanmar options. MNA create its uniform design including cabin crews and front line with famous designer Mo Hom to reflect Myanmar culture. MNA was founded in the year of 1948 under the name of “Union of Burma Airways. In 1989, the airline was renamed into “Myanma Airways” and flew to 21 destinations. Finally in 2014 MNA corporatized and relaunched as a commercial entity under government control. MNA flies to 26 destinations in Myanmar.
