Malaysian Investment Company Secures 40 Million USD to Build Telcom Towers

OCK Group, a Malaysia-based investment holding company, has secured a syndicated loan of $40.2 million in Myanmar to provide funding in the construction of 920 telecommunications towers for Telenor Myanmar. OCK will undertake the construction of the towers under a long-term ‘build and lease’ partnership model with Telenor, which at the current offers the largest 3G network in Myanmar. Following the opening of Myanmar’s financial sector to foreign bankers, this syndicated facility is one of the largest of its kind granted by Myanmar incorporated foreign banks, says OCK.
