The world’s leading express service provider, DHL, has recently launched the largest express facility in Myanmar in an effort to support the nation’s fast-growing economy which is forecast to rise by 8.5% in 2016.
The new service center is located near Yangon International Airport, a strategic location which enables faster deliveries for more customers, further connecting customers to a global DHL network of over 220 countries and territories worldwide.
“DHL launched this facility to cater to Myanmar’s increasing logistics needs, driven by growth sectors such as infrastructure, oil and gas and garment industries,” says DHL Express country manager, Mark Ong, “it is designed to handle massive shipment volumes expected over the next decade to the year 2025 and beyond.”
The service center is 50,000 square feet with a built-up area of 32,500 square feet. This expansive capacity allows for the ability to support Myanmar’s import and domestic demands. , Aside from efficient and rapid delivery of goods, security is another main focus of the new facility. Parcels are continuously monitored by an X-ray machine in addition to over 30 CCTV cameras located throughout the premises.

DHL Express Myanmar currently includes four service points, three service centers and a fleet of over 30 vehicles. DHL Express has been operating in Myanmar for over 30 years.
