Grab has officially launched the GrabRewards, Myanmar’s first loyalty programme that gives passengers rewards points to redeem special discounts and benefits. The more frequent passengers book a ride with Grab, the more they will be rewarded with exciting varieties of deals ranging from discounted rides from Grab to exclusive promotions from Rewards Partners. GrabRewards features a new design which helps users make purchases easily when they scroll through the deals in the Grap app. The GrabRewards categories include “Food & Beverage”, “Grab”, “Travel”, “Services”, “Shopping” and “Entertainment”.
GrabRewards, also the largest customer loyalty programme across Southeast Asia, opens up a new way for Grab merchant partners to gain greater visibility and reach to Grab’s passenger base in the country. Currently, there are 15 merchants in Grab Myanmar’s ecosystem of Rewards Partners, with more brands soon to join the programme. Grab Myanmar’s Acting Country Head Alvin Loh said, “At Grab, we want to create value with every ride taken beyond providing safe and affordable transport, the points that passengers earn from their rides give them access to a wide range of popular and well-loved retail and lifestyle products that truly matter to them. With GrabRewards, our loyal Grab users will be able to redeem valuable benefits like movie tickets and free meals. Our passenger loyalty programme enables us to make every Grab ride so much more rewarding for every Grab passenger in Yangon. GrabRewards enables all passengers to earn points on all Grab Taxi rides in Yangon. Grab users are placed in tiers based on their accumulated fare amount spent on all their rides with 100 Kyats spent equivalent to 1 point. Based on the total spent in the last six months, users will either be placed in Silver, Gold or Platinum, while new users will start at the Member tier.
All members will be able to use their points to instantly redeem discounts on future Grab rides. They can also enjoy exclusive F&B, entertainment, lifestyle and retail brands and servicerelated deals offered by Grab Rewards Partners such as JCGV, Swensen’s, Japan Store, Lotteria, Ya Kun Kaya Toast, Shan Yoe Yar, Pizza Hut, YKKO, Marina Indian Restaurant, Oishii Sushi, Kanote Electronic, Eliza Skin Republic and shop.com.mm.
To celebrate the launch of GrabRewards in Myanmar, Grab and its Rewards Partners will offer exciting promotions and “Super Friday” deals in the coming weeks. Users can redeem a 50% discount on a selected item of the week and stand a chance to win the weekly secret lucky draw bonus items. Deals will be unlocked every Friday and will remain unlocked for a week for Grab users to redeem it. The first deal will be unlocked on June 1.
