SPA Group Supports Aids to Flooded Area

The management of Serge Pun & Associates Group (“SPA Group”) is planning to help with immediate needs of the region affected by the floods as well as the rehabilitation and rebuilding work afterwards.

The funds collected by the SPA Group will be mainly used in the Rakhine region given the severity of the situation in that region. The aid is focused to help fund water filtration system that will help clean the water reservoirs of townships such as Kyaut Taw, Min Bya and Rathedaung. These reservoirs are where villagers would collect water during the monsoon season, as is essential for the survival of the villagers for the rest of the year as it is their only source of clean water.

FMI Air has begun transporting aid cargo including medical supplies in the form of oral rehydration salts, antiseptics, bandages and anti-diarrohe medications, much needed water filtration systems and food to Sittwe.

A team of medical officials from Pun Hlaing Siloam Hospital has also arrived in Sittwe to survey and conduct medical assessment to prepare the medical teams from Yangon that will follow. SPA Group also contributed financial aid to the Myanmar Government in its flood aids efforts. Balloons Over Bagan has also initiated a donation drive and has been distributing aid items such as food, cooking and hygiene items to over eight villages in Pwint Phyu township.

(FMI), incorporated and operating in Myanmar, and Yoma Strategic Holdings Ltd. (YSH) which is incorporated in Singapore and operates in Myanmar. Many citizens have been directly affected by the floods caused by heavy rainfall in the Bago Region, Rakhine State, Sagaing and Ayeyarwaddy Region.
