Rental Flat up for Grab in Yangon

A government plan to lease apartments for 30,000 Kyat (around $ 30) per month at Bandula Housing in South Dagon Township attracted hundreds of people eager to submit applications at the regional government’s office in Yangon. The regional government has been building on the land area of 12.534 acres and will select the applicants by drawing lots at the end of March.

The central government has allotted 20 billion kyats to Yangon regional government to build the rental flats. There are 1200 rental flats, each having 595.5 square feet, including a bedroom and a bathroom.

“At current, there are over 35,000 applicants for 1,200 flats so drawing lots would be carried out after two weeks. The exact date of the draw will be announced publicly three days ahead,” said Nay Win Aung, one of the directors of Yangon regional government.
