Ooredoo Myanmar continues their customer first approach with the announcement of their self-registration portal launch. This is the first in Myanmar and offers the fast and easy convenience of registering online, instead of visiting a store to register.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that all mobile users of Ooredoo, Telenor and MPT must register their SIMs through their respective telecom operators to protect the mobile security of the user. Services will be suspended for those who do not register their SIMs by March 31, 2017 until they complete the registration process
Ooredoo customers can dial *666# to check whether they have registered their SIMs or not and will receive a link if they still need to do so. They can start the self-registration process by turning on Ooredoo 3G/4G data and clicking on the self-registration link.
Customers can choose Myanmar or Foreign nationality and language options. Myanmar nationals will need to enter their NRC number, gender, place of birth, date of birth and address. The next step is to upload a photo or screenshot of NRC card front and back, read the terms and conditions and then click the submit button. Foreign nationals can upload a photo of their VISA page and photo ID page for SIM their registration. Customers will receive a registration message and a bonus reward for doing so. This process is absolutely free, 24 hours a day.
Ooredoo also offers its customer the option of visiting the nearest Ooredoo branded store to complete the SIM registration. They must make sure to bring a copy of Student ID or Driving License. Ooredoo B2B customers can contact their account manager for their SIM registration.
