Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce Hosts Briefing on New Investment Law

Australia-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce hosted a panel discussion on Myanmar’s New Investment Law on November 23.

Following the opening remarks by H.E. Nicholas Coppel (Australia Ambassador), Aung Naing Oo (Director General of DICA) talked about new investment law and how it will be different from the previous Foreign Investment Law as well as the recent development of the new law.

Charles Schnedier, Senior Operations Officer of International Finance Cooperation (IFC) and Chris Hughes, Partner of Berwin Leighton Paisner also participated and discussed the policy, planning and drafting of the new Myanmar Investment Law to develop a deeper understanding of what the law might mean for Australian businesses and potential Australian investors.
