World Travel Market (WTM) kicked off in London and Myanmar Tourism Marketing had an exhibitor there to bring together all Myanmar based companies and individuals who actively wanted to promote Myanmar as a destination.
While attending the WTM in London the Minister of Hotel & Tourism H.E. U Ohn Maung said that “ More tourists coming to Myanmar and travel in a sustainable way will certainly benefit the country’s development and is much needed”.
State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi stressed that her country is open to visitors all-year-round, and that she will continue to develop tourism and social projects in the country as a means of raising living standards.“There is so much that we need to do for our country. I do not think that we can afford to wait,” she stated. Her view was welcomed by May Myat Mon Win, Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Marketing, who said that “now” means “basically any of the upcoming 12 months”. “It’s a myth that Myanmar can only be visited during the dry season, especially the green season running from June till September is perfect to visit Myanmar,” she said.
World Travel Market is a three-day event being held from 7th November to 9th November 2016 at the ExCeL London in London. This business-to-business event presents a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to UK and International travel professionals in the Travel & Tourism industry.
