Twinings Tea Launches in Myanmar

Stephen Twining, tenth generation member of the famous British tea family, is in Yangon for Twinings’ 310th anniversary and the official launch of Twinings tea in Myanmar. Stephen said that it makes “absolute sense” concerning Twinings’ entry to Myanmar as tea is well-loved in Myanmar.

“Twinings never accepts anything less than perfect. Since 1706, Twinings has been committed to producing the finest teas and making them accessible to all. Today, Twinings tea is enjoyed by millions in 116 countries worldwide including Myanmar,” he added.

Twining is now available in Myanmar through a partnership between AB Food & Beverages, the company behind Twinings, and Premium Distribution Co. Ltd. Twinings is sold at City Mart supermarkets and gourmet stores in major cities and destinations including Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Bagan, Taunggyi, Inle, Ngapali and Mawlamyaing. It is also served at some of the country’s top restaurants and hotels such as NOVOTEL Yangon Max,

The Strand, and Chatrium. Among 600 blends of Twinings and infusions, Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Jasmine Green Tea, Pure Camomile and Pure Peppermint are the most popular ones available in Myanmar

AB Food & Beverages and Premium Distribution hosted a media luncheon and an afternoon tea with Twinings” customers in the hospitality and Food and Beverage Industry to mark the launch of Twinings in Myanmar and Stephen’s visit. Stephen, together with Charles Arthur Smith, brand ambassador for Twinings in South East Asia, led an interactive tea-tasting session and shared the secret to making and enjoying the perfect cup of tea.
