Sedona Hotel Yangon and the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation announced that they will jointly host a charity gala dinner on October 5 to support charitable causes in Myanmar. Themed “Music & Memories”, the event will host more than 300 guests in Sedona’s Grand Ballroom with entertainment helmed by popular personalities, Tin Moe Lwin and Maung Maung Aye, and featuring a mix of international and local artistes including singer Ni Ni Khin Zaw, Taiwanese pianist Ying-Hua Huang, Myanmar violinist Siss Thwae, and Malaysian Soprano Yiling Chaing with Brazilian Pianist Priscilla Dantas.

The first charity gala event by Sedona Hotel and the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation was held in 2016. For the upcoming event, Sedona Hotel Yangon aims to raise funds from the sales of dinner tickets as well as auctions and sale of items contributed by partners and sponsors.

fDr. Thant Thaw Kaung, Executive Committee Member of Daw Khin Kyi Foundation said, “The Daw Khin Kyi Foundation was established in 2012 to promote the health, education and living standards of the needy in the country, focusing its attention to those living in Myanmar’s least developed areas. The Foundation is a non-profit charity that seeks to improve the lives of those in need and create a better future for all. We are thrilled to partner with Sedona Hotel again to host the second Charity Gala Dinner and we look forward to a memorable evening on October 5.”

“As a pioneer and leading hotel in Myanmar, we are extremely honoured to host and support this event partnering the Daw Khin Kyi Foundation. In the spirit of being a responsible corporate citizen and reaching out to those in need, we will do our part to encourage other corporates as well as individuals to join us in doing good. We are glad that many of our partners will be supporting this important initiative”, said Mok Kok Meng, General Manager of Sedona Hotel. At the media event, Dr. Thant Thaw Kaung and Mok Kok Meng presented a figurative bronze sculpture of Myanmar State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi which will be put up for auction at the Charity Gala dinner. The sculpture was created by award-winning Norwegian professional artist Merete Sejersted Bødtker. Another item that will be put up for auction is a glassware vase created by Andrea Hyniova, Design Director of Traditional Czech Crystal Company. These items were donated by the artists as contributions to the Foundation’s fund-raising activities. Additionally, Myint Tun Oo Gems and Jewellery has donated a Jade Beads Necklace for the auction.

Tickets for the Charity Gala Dinner are on sale from September 11 at Sedona Hotel on a first-come-first-served basis at a price of $100 per person.
