Pinlon Hospital Establishes a Nuclear Medicine Department

Pinlon Hospital located in North Dagon Township celebrated a significant milestone with the opening of the Pinlon PET/CT & SPECT/CT Imaging Centre and a Nuclear Medicine Department. With three years of planning and an investment of $4 million going into building the internationally-certified Imaging Centre facilities, procuring state-of-the-art equipment and facilitating overseas training for its staff, Pinlon Hospital became the first private hospital in Myanmar to offer PET/CT & SPECT/CT scan services. Together with Pinlon Cancer Centre, the PET/CT & SPECT/CT Imaging Centre further reinforces Pinlon Hospital’s position as a one-stop centre providing comprehensive cancer care services.

The Imaging Centre will play a significant role to help patients from across Myanmar with early and accurate diagnosis in cancer staging assessment as well as monitor different types of diseases. It will also bring convenience and lowered costs to patients who need not go overseas to receive similar health services.

Kaung Myat, CEO of Pinlon Hospital said, “It was my late father Dr. Zaw Htun’s dream to provide the best healthcare facilities in Myanmar at Pinlon Hospital. With our PET/CT & SPECT/CT Imaging Centre, Pinlon Hospital now offers comprehensive cancer detection, staging and treatment facilities. Our Imaging Centre doesn’t only bring our patients more accurate results in a shorter time, but it also gives them a one-stop imaging workup with a higher clinical value. Together with our well-qualified Nuclear Medicine team, we will strive to offer the highest quality of care with the most advanced technology. Patients in Myanmar now do not need to travel far to access high quality healthcare.”
