Myanmar social chat, entertainment and payment platform MySQUAR has entered into a partnership with other service providers to collaborate in providing Wi-Fi services and digital content for Myanmar Railways (MR). The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MR to deliver free-to-use Wi-Fi on the railway coaches and station premises across the country’s rail network, including the Yangon Circular Railway. Along with the free Wi-Fi, digital content such as video games, chat services and advertisements are also included in the package, available for free to passengers on the train cars, stations and station platforms. “We are pleased to participate as a digital content provider for business opportunities with Myanmar Railways. MySQUAR continues to actively seek strategic partnerships that build brand awareness and allow us to broaden our user base through new channels,” said the company’s Chief Executive Officer Eric Schaer.
The Yangon Circular train, a local rail track of 46 kilometre, connects the city centre with suburban Yangon. Myanmar’s national rail network runs 6,000 kilometre of track from north to south with branches to east and west. Myanmar Railways is a state-owned enterprise that operates the country’s entire railway network, the largest in South-east Asia.
