Horizon International School’s Ten-Year International Programme Success Celebration

Horizon International Schools celebrated 10 Year International Programme success on August 29, 2015 in Chatrium Hotel Yangon. Students, graduates, parents and guests attended the ceremony with the grand hall filled with full capacity to mark this day and recognized achievements earned for the last 10 years through the International Programme. Students and teachers were awarded on this day and their success was recognised through performances by famous singers. Gold medalists and teachers were awarded for their success in the International Programme. The awarding was also given to T – Shirt slogan competition winner, Zaw Myint Tun from grade 7 who studies at Po Sein campus of Horizon International Schools. The winning slogan was ‘All Great Things Take Time’. The art exhibition was also held to celebrate this day during the event. Students from all campuses contributed through their art skills that reflected on their painting.

The International Programme, which started in 2006, is part of Horizon International Schools’ curriculum. It has been designed to prepare students for international competitions, International Olympiads, sports tournaments or competitions, cultural fairs, art and design competitions and others hold in different parts of the world .The aim of this programme is to provide opportunity for students to experience high standard international education and learning through academic programmes, international and cultural fairs, travel, trips, social and collaborative activities and moral guidance. In these competitions, students from Horizon International Schools represent Myanmar just like other students coming from many countries sometimes numbers reaching up to more than 140. Horizon International Schools’ students have earned more than 170 medals including 26 golden, 73 bronze and 71 silver medals. Students travelled to more than 20 countries such as the USA, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand China and different countries all over the world. The International projects or Olympiads are developed in certain learning areas such as mathematics, science, environment, arts, ICT, design, language, biology, physics, chemistry, robotics, dance, singing, sports, etc.

Myanmar students get to learn a lot from other cultures and traditions from students who travel from different parts of the world while they are reflect traditional cultural elements such as wearing longyi, thanakha, explaining about Myanmar culture, traditions, history, geography and other elements at International Programmes. So it become part of international culture fairs.
