Indian cuisine is known for its diverse range of dishes. Indian foods are different from the other ethnic foods not only in taste but also in cooking methods. Foods of India are better known for its spiciness. It is abundant with whole grains, vegetables, and, fruits. The India food has been widely appreciated for its exotic ingredients, unfamiliar dishes, and tongue-tingling flavors.

More and more Indian restaurants are mushrooming in every corner of Yangon. Another one joining the crowd at Taw Win Road, Dagon Township walking distance, within from Taw Win center and not far from American Centre. The name of the restaurant is the Marina India Restaurant.

Decoration of both interior and exterior are modern and impressive. Upon entering the restaurant, you can start to enjoy nice, neat and cozy environment. In dinning area, seafood counter can be seen as an open kitchen. There is a glass wall where you cook see the chefs preparing and cooking your food. It is a draw for children/people who enjoy seeing their food cooked in front of them. The restaurant also had private rooms tucked away for parties and gatherings.

Featuring different menus for breakfast (Dosa, Idly, Poori, Parotta, Uthappam and Dimsum) lunch and dinner (Tandoori, Tikka and Kebab). Restaurant offers modern interpretations of authentic Indian foods including seafood.

As a start, you will be served with fried papala and Corn Cups.

“Crispy Corn in Golden Basket”, one of the most ordered dishes. It is infused the taste of Chinese and India appetizer. As its name suggested, you can taste glass wall where you cook see the chefs preparing and cooking your food. It is a draw for children/people who enjoy seeing their food cooked in front of them. The restaurant also had private rooms tucked away for parties and gatherings. Featuring different menus for breakfast the crispy fried sweet corn with basket designed flour with Green Chutney Indian Mint.

“Tikka Grilled Chicken”(since this is staple dish in almost all Indian restaurants) is one of the popular dishes. The word tikka means “bits” or “pieces”. It comes with mixed vegetable salad which has a soft, tender, and absolutely savory taste.

Roan (roast leg of lamb) is also just another dish to die for. The taste is so fresh and the meat so tender that it just melted in your mouth. Streaming Hot Mutton Biryani is also worth recommending. It smells is also very appealing.

Indian foods can be very difficult to prepare with authentic flavors but Marina does it well. All authentic ingredients are imported from India. The place is usually packed with locals and expats, and we soon found out why. There’s a fully stocked bar with a variety of wines to choose from. The Marina also has it all in terms of dining facilities. The food and the service are fantastic, the price was reasonable and the portions are large. What more could we have hoped for.
