The Austrian Embassy and Honourary Consulate in Yangon, in collaboration with Rotary Club of Yangon, held a press conference to unveil the very first Vienna Ball Yangon event, to be held at the Novotel Yangon Max.
To enhance ties between Myanmar and Austria, a Vienna Ball Charity Event will be held in Yangon to celebrate the cultural, social and economic ties between the two cities and two countries on the 4th of this month.
Rotary Club of Yangon President Dr. Than Win said, “The proceeds from the charity ball will go to the ongoing Clean Water project in Ayeyarwaddy region, Thar Baung township, Magyibinsu village Clean Water projects and to conflict-affected communities in Shan and Rakhine State.”
The prestigious event is in the form of a traditional Viennese ball and is the first event of its kind organised in Myanmar. The Yangon United Symphony Orchestra will perform under the direction of Goesta Muller, a renowned Austrian Conductor, and Myanmar debutantes will dance with guidance from Heinz Heidenreic, a celebrated Vienna Ballroom dance instructor. Authentic Austrian food and wine will also be served at the Gala dinner in the evening. The dance will be a classic black tie event. Highlights include: Austrian food and wine tasting, The Austrian orchestra and opera music, and taking full delight in observing the dance of debutantes from Myanmar and Vienna ballet dancers. Patrons will also have an opportunity to dance to a number of well-known ballroom dances. Yangon denizens who would like to enjoy wine, fine dining and dance should contact the Yangon Rotary club or the Honourary Consulate for tickets ($150 per head). Free dancing lessons will be arranged for interested guests.
