MEGA’s New Warehouse

MEGA Life Sciences is planning to build a warehouse in the Industrial Zone at Mingalardon township. According to the company spokeperson, the project will cost $21.6 million and will be completed in 2017.

Humanitarian Group Helps Thousands Affected in Flood Damaged Areas

Five states in Myanmar have been greatly affected by heavy monsoon flooding which began in June. According to figures from Myanmar’s Relief and Resettlement Department and the Ministry of Social Welfare, approximately 480,000 people were affected and evacuated from their homes. KIA Myanmar family and employees arranged a donation for the flood victims. On 26 August, the team went to flood-affected areas in Thabaung township of Ayeyawady Region and provided relief supplies including water, food, clothing and bedding. For the students in the region,the team also donated backpacks, lunch boxes, pencils, pencil boxes, pens, notebooks, colored pencils, markers, pocket folders, highlighters, staplers, rulers, calculator and drawing papers.

Ooredoo teams up with UNOPS

Ooredoo Myanmar and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) signed a $3.1 million partnership agreement to build between 14 to 18 primary health centres in rural and peri-urban areas across Myanmar on 17 September. Ooredoo and UNOPS are working closely with Ministry of Health and Sports and the project aims to boost the national worldwide health care service to people in need, especially from rural and peri-urban areas. The new primary health centres will serve to help combat infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, malaria, as well as maternal, new-born and child health.
