The 55th Myanmar Gems Emporium was held from June 20 to 29 at Mani Yadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw, according to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
Over 3,100 gems merchant from China, Thailand, Canada and the United States including Myanmar’s Vice President Henry Van Thio attended the event. Majority are from China while 1,203 are local gems traders.
All licensed buyers were allowed to participate in the 55th Gems Emporium according to the rules and regulations. Local traders had to pay the deposit rate for the gems and the entrance fee.
Pearls, gems and jade lots were sold under an open tender system in euros. Putting on sale were 6,795 jade lots, 336 gem lots and 360 pearl lots. They were sold at the 10 exhibition booths at the Mani Yadana Hall.
