President Receives Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference

President Win Myint received Chinese delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Zhengwei at the Presidential Palace on May 20.

The President and Wang Zhengwei discussed and exchanged views on bilateral relations and multi-sector cooperation. The discussion also covered China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the situation in Myanmar’s Rakhine state.

Amyotha Hluttaw (lower House of Myanmar parliament) Speaker Mahn Win Khaing Than, Union Minister for International Cooperation Kyaw Tin, Deputy Minister for the Office of the President Min Thu and other government officials accompanied the President at the meeting.

The Vice Chairman of the CPPCC and party also met with State Counsellor and Foreign Minister Aung San Suu Kyi on the next day at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw. They discussed matters related to bilateral relations and cooperation, the peace process and the Rakhine state matters.
