On September 17, Pun Hlaing Silaom Hospital was awarded Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation and the ceremony was held at Pun Hlaing Silaom Hospital, Hlaing Taryar. With the award, Pun Hlaing Silaom Hospital (PHSH) become the first hospital in Myanmar to be recognized internationally for its safety and quality standards of healthcare provision. JCI is the recognized leader in international healthcare accreditation that focuses on healthcare organizations improving the safety and quality of healthcare provided.
David Qu, Vice President of JCI, H.E. Dr Myint Htwe, the Minister of Health and Sports, Serge Pun, Chairman of Serge Pun & Associates (“SPA”) and Professor Thet Khine Win, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Sports attended the ceremony. PHSH underwent five days of thorough evaluation by the JCI to meet the rigorous standards in delivering quality safe care. Prior to that, it was 2 years of working towards ensuring the hospital was ready for the evaluation. Three senior surveyors from the US, Japan and Singapore evaluated hospital, with indepth reviews of the hospital’s physical structure, clinical systems and people knowledge.

Pun Hlaing Siloam Hospital (“PHSH”) is the flagship hospital of Serge Pun & Associates (SPA) Group and was incorporated in 2005. In 2014, a jointventure was established between First Myanmar Investment (60%) and Lippo Group (40%) to form PHSH.
