Ooredoo and Myanmar Idol Donated 38 Million Kyats

Ooredoo donated 38 million Kyats which garnered from Myanmar Idol Grand Final SMS Voting to Aung Zayar Min Philanthropic Monastery which is located at A Lae Ywar, Hlaing Thar Yar Township, together with Myanmar Idol team. Ooredoo sponsored Myanmar Idol Season 3 as an Official Telecom Partner earlier this year. Myanmar Idol Grand Final was held on August 11, 2018 and fans from the whole country have voted for the winner. Alok Verma, Chief Commercial Officer of Ooredoo Myanmar said, “Ooredoo Myanmar always support for the development of Myanmar and its citizens. And, Myanmar Idol is one of our commitments to reveal youth talents. We believe that young people should be given the chance to fulfill their hopes and aspirations as they are the future of the country. Today’s donation makes me feel really heartwarming by the willingly participation of Myanmar Idol contestants and happiness of beneficiaries. .” There are over 2700 students including 970 orphans who are studying at this monastic school. The monastery does not have enough space for all the students and the hostel was used as a teaching classroom at day times. The donation will be contributed to build the hostel for the orphans including the necessary fundamental food-stuffs such as rice bags, beans, cooking oil, salt, etc. which cover one month necessity. During the donation event, Phyo Myat Aung, the winner and Chan Myae Maung Cho, second runner-up of this year Myanmar Idol and other contestants from Myanmar Idol Season 3 entertained and also played fun games together with students from the monastery.
