As expected, the SAC (State Administration Council) in place, since the change of government in February 2021 was disbanded on July 31, 2025, four and a half year later. Now the new council, or rather a commission is in place State Peace and Security Commission, led by, you guess it right, the same Senior General, who also assume the position of the Temporary President of the Nation.
This new commission will oversee the cabinet, headed by the new Prime Minister Nyo Saw, who was previously head of Myanmar Economic Holdings, the entity that control
and manage economic activities of Tatmadaw. He might even end up becoming the next President.
There is one other noticeable highlights; the absence of Navy personnel in the new Commission as well as having only one within the cabinet. This could be that this six month administration is very much focus on on-ground security (army’s territory) and less on development (based on feedback from navy technocrats) or they have been sidelined to enter the upcoming elections in January. There have been a constant heated debate among the diplomatic community on whether SG would continue to stay on to hang onto his absolute power to be the next president of Myanmar. MI brave call is that he would simply ride peacefully into sunset just like the predecessor SG Than Swe!
