Myanmar newest telecommunications firm MYTEL started their operations, selling SIM cards and providing customers access to its 4G capable network for the first time on 15th March.
It commences on commercial operations in Nay Pyi Taw area, east Bago and Kayin state and plans to expand their services and network in all regions within next month when network reaches to peak network readiness . MYTEL was happy to welcome eagerly awaiting customers and their key point of launch plan was to focus on more rural areas.
MYTEL’s SIM cards price starts at 1,500 Kyats per card and users will get welcome bonus of 750 MB plus 100 minutes on-net to use for 60 days after activation of SIM card. Customers are allowed to enjoy 50 percent top-up bonus every time they recharge from March 15 onwards and top-up bonus can also be rolled over to the succeeding month if subscriber is not able to consume the credit. Base tariff for calls will be 10 kyats per-minute for on-net, 23 Kyats per-minute for off-net and the base rates for SMS on-net and off-net will be 10 Kyats.
