The Myanmar passport ranked at 180th (for individual rank) and at 83th position (for global rank) with a visafree score (VFS) of 41 according to the ‘Global Passport Power Rank 2017’. The 2017 Global Passport Power Rank, produced by global financial advisory firm Arton Capital, ranks all of the passports of the world by their ‘total visa-free score’. The ranking is based on an analysis of the access various passports have to countries around the world, with a passport’s “visa-free score” representing the number of countries its holder can visit visa-free or with visa on arrival.
Myanmar citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 41 countries including Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, Philippines and so on. To compared with neighour countries, Thailand ranked at 108th (for individual rank) and at 54th position (for global rank) with a VFS score of 72. Bangladesh is ranked at 193 (for individual rank) and 90th (for global rank) with a VFS score of 35,
Singapore, currently, has the world’s most powerful passport and ranked at 1st for both individual rank as well as for global rank. The index says that Singapore passport holders enjoy visafree access to 173 countries. Germany and Sweden ranked second and third, with a score of VFS 158 and 157, respectively.
But the least powerful passports in the world on the list is Afghanistan, ranked at 199th (for individual rank) and 93 (for global rank) with a score of 22, followed by Pakistan and Iraq at 92 with a score of 26, Syria at 91, having a score of 29 and Somalia at 90 with a score 34.
