The Myanmar International Tourism Exhibition 2018 was held at Tatmadaw Exhibition Hall, Yangon, from July 20 to 22. This Expo was organized by ICVeX, a professional exhibition organizer in Southeast Asia.
It is a platform to promote Myanmar as an international tourism travel destination and provide an opportunity for local travel agencies to connect with international companies to sell in-bound and buy out-bound travel in Myanmar. ASEAN countries are opening up and strengthening cooperation by offering Visa-free agreements to boost regional developments and tourism. The major objectives of this Expo are to promote Myanmar tourism industry and to serve as one stop solution to both inbound and outbound tour operators, hotel chains, restaurants, commercial airlines, inland transportation providers.
Exhibitors paid $ 290 per square metre of space and $ 320 per square metre for a standard booth.
“It would cost $4,000 to $5,000 to participate in an international tourism exhibition in other countries, which is unaffordable for a small travel company. Now they can pay about 3 million Kyats for three days,” said Thet Lwin Toh, chairman of the Union of Myanmar Travel Association.
