Myanmar Posts and Telecommu- nications (MPT) is launching ten sales centers-MPT shops in major cities in the country; Yangon, Man- dalay and Nay Pyi Taw. According to MPT, plans are underway to open two sales cen- ters in each state and region in coming fiscal year. MPT has opened its first directly op- erated shop in cooperation with Japanese
KDDI/ Sumitomo Corporation at Yangon General Post Office (GPO) in November 2014 where the Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe made his appearance. Only WCDMA SIMs are available at the GPO and an orig- inal and a copy of National Registration Card (NRC) are needed to purchase a single SIM per person.
