3 December 2021, Yangon – The most exclusive live showcase of Malaysian brands in Myanmar returns on its second year, under the theme “Malaysia Ayatha”. More than 110 Malaysia brands and their Myanmar partners will be participating this year to introduce a wide range of high-quality products and services from fashion to food & beverage.
Malaysia Ayatha will be held both online and offline with lucky draws, prizes, and surprises. The online live showcase will be held across three days via the Malaysia Ayatha Page and official media partner Duwun’s Facebook Page from 1pm to 2pm on December 4, 11 and 18.
“Malaysia Ayatha is a bridge that culturally, socially and economically connects the people of Myanmar and Malaysia. We are pleased to welcome so many Malaysian brands and their Myanmar business partners to this year’s event as we aim to share love, kindness, experience, and opportunities,” said Malaysia’s Economic Counsellor in Myanmar, Mr. Azahar Mohamed.
The first live showcase on December 4, “Malaysia Ayatha: Share the Love” will be presented by seasoned host Thazin Nwe Win. Viewers will get a chance to win lucky draw prizes including vouchers, gift cards, discount code and merchandising items from partners. Most of the products featured at this live showcase will be donated to the Khine Hnin Wai Orphanage Center founded by beloved actress Khine Hnin Wai.
The “Malaysia Ayatha: Share a meal” live showcase on December 11 is a must-watch for people who love food and cooking. Together with Jaz3, a young and talented one-minute recipe vlogger, Myo Htet Aung, Chef de Partie – Malaysian Cuisine from Wyndham Grand Hotel Yangon will cook popular Malaysian dishes; while Hein Min Oo, Demi Chef de Partie from Pan Pacific Hotel will bake Christmas cupcakes and mini pancake bites using the finest Malaysian ingredients.
The final day of the live showcase on December 18, “Malaysia Ayatha: Share the Experience” will be hosted by Yangon Thu Michelle, and features fashion and lifestyle.
Renowned Malaysian designer Gillian Hung uniquely curated some of the first collections from five Malaysian fashion brands for an online show. “I want to inspire talented young designers in Myanmar to explore their passion, and to catalyse creative collaboration between them and our very own designers in
Malaysia,” she said.
In addition, Nissan will also be showcasing the Terra and Navara models and has surprises for those tuned in online as well as for visitors to their Malaysia Ayatha booth at Junction City.
Catch Malaysia Ayatha bazaars at Junction City from December 3 to 8, Junction Square from December 10 to 12, Junction Mawtin from December 17 to 19 and Kantharyar Center from December 24 to 26.
“Pasar malam, which translates to night market, is a big part of Malaysian culture. It’s essentially a popup bazaar which is also quite popular in Myanmar. We hope that through Malaysia Ayatha, we’re able to bring a slice of this beloved experience for our friends in Myanmar,” Mr. Azahar Mohamed said.
The Malaysia Ayatha bazaars will feature over 80 brands and distributors of high-quality products and services including various food & beverage, cooking ingredients, household items, mom & baby products, healthcare and personal care products; as well as Malaysian restaurants and food franchises, health and education services and payment services. Malaysian products will also be made available to Myanmar shoppers on e-commerce platforms including Shop.com.mm, City Mall Online and BeeHive.
