Licences Temporarily Revoked from 8 Overseas Recruitment Agencies

Ministry of Labour announced on June 21 that the licences of eight overseas recruitment agencies have been. The agencies included Shwe Mandalar May, Myint Myat Dagun, Poe Poe and Phyo Thandar Htun who were banned for six months and Top Choice Man Power, Shwe Phyo Tha, Phyu Sin May, Labour King and Royal ABS who were banned for one year.

There are more than 50 overseas recruitment agencies whose licenses have been revoked from 2014 to 2022 and 22 agencies have been permanently closed, according the Department of Labour. According to the Ministry, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea, has resumed recruitment of foreign workers, after temporary suspension during the Covid period.

There is an increase in overseas employment agencies supplying the foreign labour market with many young people wanting to go abroad to work. There are 157 overseas recruitment agencies in Myanmar.
