Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) launched its new chicken flavor “Chili Lime Chicken” at its Junction Square location in Yangon. KFC launched its new flavor with a media event last month, treating reporters to a free tasting of the new spicy and sour entree. A regular one piece Chili Lime Fried chicken is 1500 Kyats; or feed the entire family with eight pieces for 11000 Kyats. A set lunch includes two pieces of Chili Lime Chicken, French Fries, and a drink for 3,900 Kyats.
“I believe local people are going to like the “Chili Lime Chicken,” says Nyan Kyaw, Head of Marketing of KFC Myanmar, “Before introducing the menu to Myanmar, we tasted it several times and accepted customer’s feedback. Moreover, Myanmar people prefer the hot taste. So, we modified the ingredient according to local people preferences.” He added, “we are going to open branches in Yangon and Mandalay. Before April 2017, we have plans to open at least 12 branches.” KFC is the first international brand to enter Myanmar, in collaboration with Yoma Strategic Holdings and open first outlet along Bogyoke Aung San Road in July 2015. Currently, KFC is operating six outlets.
