Kanbawza Bank (KBZ) was mentioned as one of the 100 leading companies for 2015 around the world at the World Economic forum. The forum was held from January 18 to 23 in Davos, Switzerland. London-based World Finance released its “World Finance 100 (2015)” that listed companies or individuals and presents the new business elite, made up of those whose vision and enterprise shapes the conceptual landscape of finance, business and technology. Companies from the banking, energy, financial services, insurance, legal, media, technology and telecoms sectors are included.
KBZ Bank, which now has around 200 branches nationwide in 2015 within a relatively short time, keeps on improving modern banking services, transparency and assisting in local private businesses to develop the country’s economy and private sector. It is also ranked as the country’s top tax payer for four consecutive years. The award also cites KBZ following rules and regulations laid down by international institutions and active participation in and contribution to religion, education, health and social sectors within the country.
World Finance stated on its website, “Myanmar’s leading financial services provider has been growing in stature over recent years, bringing international banking standards to the country’s various banking markets. Underscoring customer engagement and standards in product delivery, the company has highlighted the importance of continually raising expectations in order to fend off competition and continue to lead the industry.”
In December, World Finance also awarded KBZ Bank three marks of excellence: “Banker of the Year Award in Asia 2015,” “Best Commercial Bank in Myanmar 2015” and “Best Retail Bank in Myanmar 2015”.
Aung Ko Win, Chairman of KBZ was also awarded the Special Honorary State Excellence Award for the bank’s highest contribution to tax by the President. Along with KBZ, Apple IT (USA), Barclays KBZ Listed in World Finance 100 Bank (England), BMW Company (Germany), BNP Paribas Bank (France), Emirates Airline (UAE) and Qatar National Bank (QNB), ANZ Bank (Australia), Toyota Company (Japan), HSBC Bank (Hong Kong), Sinopec (China) and SingTel (Singapore) were also listed in the “World Finance 100 (2015)”.
