Hilton in Myanmar has been recognized for its continued commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the recent 2018 American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) CSR Excellence Awards. Hilton received an achievement award, along with a silver status distinction for winning the title for three consecutive years.
Hilton received the recognition for its pioneering capacity building initiative, Hilton Vocational Training Center, which provides free training for young people who are keen to pursue careers in hospitality and tourism. American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Myanmar launched its first annual CSR Excellence Recognition Program in August 2015.
The program recognizes member companies that create long-term economic and social benefits in Myanmar communities. Hilton received top marks in the CSR excellence evaluation across five categories: overall integration of CSR programming and value creation, sustainability of programming, measurability of results and reporting, communications of CSR programming and partnerships. The awarding took place at the AMCHAM-hosted Thanksgiving luncheon in Yangon on November 20.
