New Appointees for Danu Self-Administered Zone
Khin Maung Tin has been appointed as Deputy Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor last month. He was former Ambassador and member of Commission for the Assessment of Legal Affairs and Special Issues Arkar Lin has been appointed to the Chairman of the Leading Body of Danu self-Administered zone.
Another Responsibility for Su Kyi
Su Kyi has been appointed as Chairperson of National Reconciliation and Peace Center. Kyaw Tint Swe, Union Minister for the Office of the State Counsellor and Dr Tin Myo Win, Chairman of Preparatory Committee for Union Peace Conference-21st Century Panglong were also appointed as Vice Chairman 1 and 2 respectively. There are seven members and one secretary.
The ethnic armed organization’s plenary meeting kicked-off in Kachin State on July 26. The meeting aims to strengthen a federal union by bringing a sense of unity to the country’s ethnic nationalities. In attendance were 17 ethnic armed groups including: Arakan Liberation Army-ALP, All Burmese Students Democratic FrontABSDF, and the Pao National Liberation Organization-PNLO. Ethnic groups that did not attend include: United Wa State Party/United Wa State Army (UWSP/UWSA), Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) or Kokang, Palaung State Liberation Front or Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) and the National Socialist Council of Nagaland -Khaplang (NSCN-K)
