Eco Green City Project to be Implemented

Eco Green City project will be built near Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Hlegu township. The project is implemented by the union-level, said Myint Naing, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Urban and Housing development under the Ministry of Construction.

This project will be implemented by Ministry of Construction together with Alliances Star group of Companies on 1,453 acres of land near 3 miles and 1 furlong of Yangon-Mandalay Expressway and the main objective is to build high class housing, low priced housing, sophisticated markets, s h o p p i n g m a l l s , c a r – p a r k i n g s , government offices, schools and to create many employment opportunities. “There is also project to be carried out together with international organizations in Hmawbi and Nyaungnapin near Eco Green City,” said Win Htay.

Low-priced housing project with 96 billion Kyats will start during this year according to the press conference on January 23 at the housing project management office in 3 miles and 1 furlong, Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. “The project is the largest one so far under the NLD government which would bring many benefits to Hlegu township and contribute to the development of the larger Yangon Region. We have prepared for Yangon city to be a green and pleasant one that also preserves its cultural heritage”, said Phyo Min Thein, Yangon Chief Minister. Ministry of Construction is planning to implement three large projects including Eco Green City project in Yangon and surrounding area to reduce the high population density of the city.
