According to the announcement by the Ministry of Labor, Immigration and Population and the Myanmar Embassy, e-Visa for travel can be used to enter Myanmar from the checkpoints along the IndiaMyanmar border between the two countries.
The system will begin this month at the following two checkpoints:
- Tamu Land Border Checkpoint
- Rih Khaw Dar Land Border Checkpoint Tamu land border checkpoint connects upper Sagaing Region with Manipur State of India. Rih Khaw Dar land border checkpoint connects Chin State with India’s Mizoram State. Both are represented as important trade corridors for Indian and Myanmar travelling between the two countries for many years.
The e-Visa will make crossing the border much easier. The application process and policies remain the same and travelers can apply online for tourist visas, express tourist visas and business visas.
