Cloud Sea Camps in Naung Cho Set to Return for Thadingyut Festival

Some cloud sea camps in Naung Cho Township, Shan State (North), are preparing to restart their businesses in the upcoming Thadingyut Festival, giving visitors to enjoy cloud
glamping experiences, said Pyae Sone Aung, an owner of Cloudy Villa. The unstable ground situation and clashes forced the cloud sea camps in Naung Cho township to shut down business operations. Following the restoration of peace in the area after Tatmadaw forced out EAO and terrorist forces, some camps are planning to return to normal operations. “Cloud sea camps will be opened in November. Hopefully, it would attract many visitors. Naung Cho is not that far from Mandalay. Visitors from there stopped in the city even during the coronavirus pandemic. We hope the camps will draw the attention of the holidaymakers,” he added.

Previously, cloud sea camps in Naung Cho Township started on the full moon day of the Thadingyut. Thousands of visitors used to flock to the area to enjoy the breathtaking view of the cloud sea. Of the 10 camps, at least seven are set to reopen this season.
