The region’s leading banking professionals from across 16 countries gathered in Yangon to learn about the latest developments in the banking in- dustry in Myanmar, the last banking frontier in Asia. More than 250 delegates from var- ious financial constitution, banks, regional authorities, professional consultants, bank- ing technology service providers and min- istries attended and discussed the future of banking sector in Myanmar over the 2-day conference.
H.E U Set Aung, Deputy Govenor , Central Bank of Myanmar said “With the central bank gaining independence last year from being government controlled, we have offi- cially reached significant milestone in our reform journey.”. He also called up the lead- ing authorities, most influential voices and the brightest minds of the regions to discuss and find out the opportunities and challeng- es we are facing today.
Consultants and experts from various financing, banking and capital markets also attended the conference and more than 15 speakers from Glory Global Solutions, OKI electric Industry, Southtech Limited, Hutton National Bank, Thales e-security and Win- cor Nixdorf shared their expert insights on employing technology which is expected to significantly impact the Myanmar Banking Sector.
