August Parami Talk Series

Nyein Chan Soe Win, Co-founder and CEO of GET, and Executive Director at Flymya; Myo Myint Kyaw, Founder and CEO of Revo; and Dr. Yazar Minn Htoo, Co-founder and Chief Technical Officer of Koe Koe Tech, joined the Parami Talk Series and discussed digital services for social and economic development of Myanmar at the Parami Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The group of panelists, moderated by Kaungset Lin, project lead for the Digital Retail Division at Yoma Bank, discussed about the role of digital services in the social and economic development of Myanmar, each representing respective digital service industries.

“There is no doubt how our lives will be different with the use of technology in this day and age. We can see the significant effects of social media such as Facebook and Twitter on the way we communicate and interact with people. As such, it is my pleasure to welcome the Myanmar youth working in technology to share their experience in the field and how they envision to contribute to the nation-building of our country, using technology.” said Dr. Kyaw Moe Tun, Executive Director of Parami Institute. Columbia University’s Dr. Alexandra Gribovskaya, the Parami Talk guest speaker said, “There is such an organization such as Parami Institute that is trying to bring more expertise to Myanmar and it is also hard to believe that Parami is doing it as a non-profit/ non-governmental organization, raising money to bring people; to educate people; and to give scholarships to students. I know that there are a lot of for-profit new institutions of higher education and that is why it is even more impressive that institute like this exists and it is already doing so much work in educating both the new and the old generations.”
