The Korean Wave (Hallyu) refers to the global popularity of South Korea’s cultural economy exporting pop culture, entertainment, music, TV dramas and movies. Korea Wave reached to Myanmar since in the mid of 2000s. Local people enjoy the music and culture, including Korean food, especially noodles. Noodles are a staple in Korean cuisine. They are served in stews, soups, stir fries, and in cold salad dishes.
Located near Thamada (the President) cinema and across from Aung San Stadium, customers can easily access to Seoul Myanmar restaurant by car or on foot. Upon entering the shop, you will notice the neat and simple decoration; the colors of walls and decoration are basic yet functional. The Menu
You can start with Takoyaky cake (a kind of fried Squid) or Kimbap cake as tasty appetizers, and then select various noodle dishes for a main course. Basically, you can choose eight kind of noodles; fish noodle, beef noodle, chicken noodle, assorted noodle, spare rib noodle, variety of shrimp noodle and octopus noodle. It only costs around 4500 Kyats per bowl. One thing is the spicy level of noodles. Staring from level 0.5 to 7, you can experience your own endurance level of spiciness. You can add other accessories such as Squid. Fish ball, Kimchee, Vegetable for an extra charge and costs around 1500 Kyats. Currently, the shop offers five kinds of drinks.
Final Verdict
If you are a lover of spicy or noodle, Seoul Myanmar is the must-go place. Prices are reasonable. One thing to you must take notice before order is level of spicy. Only if you can really withstand spiciness, anything above 1 would be a risky choice.
